This is the classic introductory book for kids. My son received this book three days ago and has not put it down.
Re: this book, i highly recommend it. she has since read book #1 of the percy jackson series and found it to be a cool and amusing modern twist of the ancient greek myths. she plans to continue with that series. my daughter loves this book. the illustrations are beautiful. her interest in greek mythology really soared when she started reading this book. we have been reading about the ancient greeks as well, which adds another dimension to her understanding of these stories.
Lot of fun to read as a family. This book is great for young kids interested in Greek Myths.
versions and translations of Greek Myths, but this is a very accessible tale for most. Of course, there are many good (and great). I should have bought a gross of this book to start with, as I have given so many away. This book should be required reading for every boy and girl, and everyone else who hasn't read it. Plus it is fascinating entertainment read aloud.
I can't wait until my children are old enough to share this book with me. The drawings are fantastic and the stories well told. Highly recommended. I was given this book in 4th grade. I'm now 39 years old and can vividly remember both the pictures and stories.
